The Singapore Night Festival (SNF) is returning for an epic 14th edition to liven up the Bras Basah and Bugis (BBB) precinct from 18-26 Aug 2023!

This year's theme Singapore, the Great Port City, illuminates the transformation of Singapore from an important port city to the vibrant, modern metropolis it is today.

Visitors can look forward to exploring 700 years of Singapore's history through a diverse range of multicultural experiences.

These captivating experiences will immerse you in the rich sights, smells, tastes, and stories of BBB.

Be prepared to discover new festival attractions, witness unique artist collaborations, and celebrate the remarkable connections between the local and international arts scene.

X O X (two kisses and a hug) by Critical Craft Collective

It's a testament to Singapore's tradition of trade and exchange, and a showcase of the immense talents within the local art community.

Festival goers will be dazzled by over 50 delightful experiences in the BBB district and can expect:

  • Highlight act Time is a Black Circle by local artist Dawn Ng
  • 4 projection mapping projects
  • 12 Night Lights installations
  • 2 roving performance locations
  • 2 experiential programmes
  • 1 stage performance
  • 9 partners programmes
  • 3 Festival Village offering performances and food and beverage experiences

Festival Highlights

Highlight Act: Time is a Black Circle by Dawn Ng

Put on a pair of roller skates and roll back into Singapore's yesteryears of the sixties and seventies, exploring the vibrant disco scene of the BBB precinct at the National Museum.

Dawn Ng's Time is a Black Circle pays homage to this nostalgic era and the discothèques that used to fill the area.

Step into a psychedelic rotunda adorned with warm, blooming colors reminiscent of those bygone days.

An indoor roller skating rink awaits festival-goers, inviting them to groove, jive, and skate to the electrifying hits of the past.

Projection Mapping Installations

The much-loved projection mapping installations are making a comeback this SNF.

Four mesmerizing works will illuminate the facades of cultural buildings in the BBB precinct.

Festival-goers can gather on the lawn in front of the National Museum and enjoy the visually stunning treat, 700 Years, presented by Samsung, which traces Singapore's early years.

CHIJMES will also feature projection mappings by local artists, as part of the festival's goal to provide local artists with a platform to present their works.

A Stone's Throw (Away) by WY-TO Group

Be amazed by Night Lights as it brings you 12 dazzling installations that will transform everyday spaces around the BBB precinct.

Florescence by Kristal Melson

As you make your way around the precinct, you'll be able to experience the captivating retelling of stories from Singapore's extensive journey as a trading port.

A Global Bugis Phinisi by Tay Swee Siong

GIFFEST III: IMPERFECT by EYEYAH!

Dedicated Family Zone

We'll weather the weather, whatever the weather, until we cannot by Sweet Tooth

SNF is introducing a brand new dedicated family zone this year.

Situated around Canning Rise, families can enjoy children's programmes at Children's Museum Singapore, a roving performance by Sweet Tooth, and captivating light installations with interactive elements designed especially for children.

Experiential Programmes | Discovering the sights and sounds of BBB

Explore Waterloo Street through your own lens in the NightFest Photo Walk by Objectifs Centre for Photography and Film.
