Set sail for a spectacular day of nautical adventures and celebration!

Head down to the Singapore Navy Museum on 5 May 2024 where an exciting Navy Day Celebration awaits! 

This special day is dedicated to honouring our brave naval pioneers, showcasing Singapore’s maritime defence story, and celebrating the proud history of the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN).

From 10am-5pm, families can look forward to a sea of thrilling activities and attractions. Go behind the scenes with a Windshield Tour of Changi Naval Base and get an up close look at the mighty ships of the RSN. The talented SAF Central Band Clarinet Ensemble will treat guests to rousing musical performances. Kids can unleash their creativity with navy-themed craft and trail activities. 

Wander through the Singapore Navy Museum that is filled with captivating galleries where Singapore’s naval heritage comes alive. Be transported by immersive video experiences, interactive exhibits, and audio visual showcases that highlight Singapore’s rich maritime legacy and the pivotal role the RSN plays in safeguarding our waters. 

Who knows? This Navy Day Celebration may even inspire a future sailor in your family, as it brings the high seas closer to home with an adventure that’s fun and educational.

And when you’re done with your exploration, treat yourself and your crew to delicious snacks and beverages from a variety of food trucks such as the Milo and Old Chang Kee trucks.

This is an experience you won’t want to miss, so batten down the hatches and embark on a day of nautical fun with the whole family.

Changi Naval Base Windshield Tour

Where: Museum Front Gate

Time: 11am-3pm (once every hour)

Hop on for a unique opportunity to peer into the heart of Singapore’s maritime might. This one-of-a-kind experience gives you a closer look at the impressive fleet that safeguards our waters. 

It’s also an opportunity to soak in the scenic coastal views that surround the base.

Pre-registration is required for this activity.

Navy’s Crucible Presentation

Step into the heart of the Singapore Navy Museum and embark on a journey through the annals of naval history.

The Navy’s Crucible Presentation invites you to explore the fascinating stories behind some of the most iconic RSN vessels that have graced the seas.

Be immersed in a captivating session where ship models spring to life, revealing the intricate details and rich history of vessels like the RSS Daring and RSS Sealion.

Beyond The Blue (Trail)

Time: 

  • 11am-1pm
  • 3pm-5pm

Go on a family adventure at the Singapore Navy Museum!

Hunt for artefacts and uncover fascinating facts as you explore the museum’s collection of artefacts, exhibits and interactive displays. 

Complete the trail and stand a chance to win a limited edition Simon Bear!

Marvel at the impressive displays of weapons and equipment while learning about naval battles and operations. 

You’ll gain an appreciation for the important role the Navy has played in Singapore’s maritime defence and development over the years.

Fits for Inspection: A Presentation of Military Memorabilia and Vintage Uniforms by Alvin Lee

Join renowned military memorabilia collector Alvin Lee as he takes you on a journey through his remarkable collection of vintage uniforms and military gear. 

During this exclusive session, Alvin will share the fascinating tales behind his prized possessions, offering glimpses into the lives of the brave men and women who wore them.

 His engaging storytelling will transport you to battlefields of the past, where tales of heroism, camaraderie and, and sacrifice come alive.

Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) Central Band Clarinet Ensemble

  • 3.00pm - 3.30pm

Get ready to be swept away by the tunes of the SAF Central Band Clarinet Ensemble! 

This talented group of professional military musicians serve as distinguished ambassadors of the SAF, bringing the spirit and values of the military to life through music.

Make Your Own RSS Singapura Hat (Craft)

Where: Shipyard - Level 3 

Time: 10am-5pm

Craft your own R.S.S Singapura Hat in this hands-on experience where you’ll recreate the distinguished headwear once donned by naval officers of the bygone era.

Singapore Navy Museum Showcase at Expo MRT Station

Aside from the festivities at Singapore Navy Museum, you can also check out the ongoing showcase at EXPO MRT Station, Singapore’s first Navy Museum themed station.

Themed “Our Defence Story on the Move”, this immersive showcase has transformed EXPO MRT Station into a navy museum themed environment, featuring a 3D submarine model, naval-themed sceneries, and augmented reality filters and games.

The showcase provides passengers with an engaging pre-museum experience, offering fun insights into Singapore’s maritime heritage. 

Free shuttle bus service from EXPO MRT Station

There is a free shuttle bus service from EXPO Mrt Station to Singapore Navy Museum.

Take exit B from Expo Station and turn right to head towards bus top number 96301.

Shuttle bus schedule: 

  • Pick up from EXPO MRT: 10am, 11am, 12pm, 1pm, 2pm (last pick up to Museum)
  • Pick up from Museum: 10.30am, 11.30am, 12.30pm, 1.30pm, 2.30pm, 3.30pm (last pick up to EXPO MRT)
