Children's Museum Singapore

Into the Hawkerverse, the all-new exhibition at the Children's Museum Singapore is an immersive and wildly entertaining dive into the rich culture of Singapore's beloved hawker centres.

The Children's Museum Singapore is the first museum dedicated specifically for children aged 12 and under.

With its interactive exhibits, hands-on activities, and colourful displays, it offers a unique way for children to learn about the history and culture of Singapore.

The Museum features four permanent galleries on the first floor with plenty of tactile opportunities that challenge kids to think creatively, develop their intellectual capabilities, and learn about Singapore.

On the second floor, you'll find three special galleries with new experiences and adventures that are refreshed regularly.

Level 2 - Into the Hawkerverse

Into the Hawkerverse exhibition is a paradise for little foodies!

The multi-gallery experience takes kids on a journey from the humble beginnings of Singapore's street hawkers to the iconic hawker centres that we know and love today.

Through hands-on activities, recreated hawker stalls, and object-based learning displays, kids will explore all the sights, sounds, and delicious smells that make hawker culture such an integral part of Singapore's identity.

The three galleries are brimming with engaging exhibits that will delight all the senses.

Children will learn about the diverse cuisines and unique dishes from Satay to Nasi Lemak and Fish Head Curry, and even peek behind-the-scenes into how a hawker kitchen operates.

Our personal favourites include the interactive hawker stall where kids can take on the roles the customer or the hawker, whipping up classic dishes like Fried Hokkien Prawn Mee and Roti Prata.

The "Hawker Master Action Challenge" is also a fun activity where the little ones (and even you!) can test their skills at pouring the perfect cup of Teh Tarik.

The dedicated Play Pot area for kids 4 years old and under is filled with hawker-themed toys and games, ensuring even the youngest visitors can get in on the fun.

For a touch of creativity, the "Design a Hawker Centre" corner invites kids to share their visions and ideas for what they would love to see in future hawker centres.

Level 1 Permanent Exhibition - A Voyage Back in Time

The Hidden Chamber Theatre Show

Your journey in The Museum begins in The Hidden Chamber Theatre Show, where guests are greeted by the museum's friendly Captain.

Objects from her secret collection magically come to life through animation, regaling visitors with fascinating tales of their origins.

Shows run every 15 minutes

Ahoy Singapore

Then it's all aboard the Captain's robust ship as you set sail on the Ahoy Singapore exhibit.

Brave stormy waters and rough seas as you travel back to 19th century Singapore.

Upon disembarking at this exciting port town, a vibrant world awaits exploration.

The Marketplace

Be immersed in the bustling ambience of traditional shophouses and be transported to the beating heart of historic Singapore.

Lively storytellers breathe life into the tales of local traders and you can attempt your hand at traditional crafts like street barbering and intricate letter writing.

It's a fun look into the sights and sounds of a bygone era.

My Neighbourhood

Finally, stroll through the colourful My Neighbourhood area and catch a glimpse of modern Singapore living.

Design your own stamp at the neighbourhood post office, run it through the scanner, and see your creations pop up on the big screen!
