Lessons

Beginners start with the CorePiano lessons, a collection of over 30 lessons that teach you piano essentials. You will learn how to properly identify the notes of the piano, how to hold your hands, and how to read music.

Lessons are broken into 3 books (PDF files which you can download and print), then further broken down into 6 units per book to make it easy to learn at your own pace.

Book 1 - Designed for beginners, it features six original pieces that are fun to play and practice. You’ll learn how to read music, improvise and create your own music. Each unit improves your piano skills with graded quizzes.

Book 2 - Work through rhythm, technique, music reading, songs and improvisation.

Book 3 - learn how to create rich piano arrangements. By incorporating original pieces in a variety of musical styles, Book 3 helps you become a well-rounded pianist, ready for the next challenge.

Each unit contains a lesson on:

• Technique - learn to play faster and more accurately
• Rhythm - you won't have bad rhythm anymore after the lessons!
• Ear Training - train your ear to hear melodies, rhythms, and chords with ease
• Reading - learn how to read music faster and how to create your own accompaniments
• Song - learn to play fun songs that are catchy
• Improvisation - unlock your creative side and create your own music
• Bonus - section for students to learn advanced techniques

Each unit is about 60-80 minutes of video lessons. Most students will take 2-3 years to complete the entire system.

You'll get detailed tracking of progress and piano quiz scores for up to 5 students per master account. This means the entire family can learn with one subscription.

To give back to the community during this difficult Covid-19 period, HomeSchoolPiano is giving free access to the HomeSchoolPiano Level 1 course until September 1st, 2020. These lessons usually take most students 6 months to 1 year to complete.
